Architectural Work
Sustainable Design Project
Software: AutoCAD, SketchUp, Procreate, Photoshop
Sustainable design focused on community orientated housing concepts, which promoted eco living. The site for this project was located near the cathedral, on a 6-8m incline.
My design response utilised retaining walls to make effective use of the site, with fully accessible access to each level. The concept also promoted solar energy and green roofs to benefit the environment.
Urban Design: "Green Corridor"
Software: AutoCAD, SketchUp, Procreate
This project aimed at transforming parts of a local community to help reenergise the area. The objectives given focused on green space in urban environments.
My concept was based on designing an area for children to explore and play, as well as a safe and relaxing route to the local schools and churches.
Heritage Project
Software: AutoCAD, SketchUp, Procreate
A local heritage site, Bishop's Palace, had been under recent renovation, and the council gave our studio the opportunity to design a new visitor centre and café on its grounds.
Upon completion, all students work were displayed within the Palace when it reopened to visitors.
The Hive: Creative Arts Therapy Centre
Software: AutoCAD, SketchUp, Procreate, PhotoShop
This project brief was given by Lincoln Council as part of their Revitalisation Project of an area in Lincoln called Sincil Bank. The objective was to design an arts centre for the local community with dual functionality.
Biomimicry is the creation of systems, processes or models, based upon elements of nature, to solve human problems. Designs such as aeroplanes are based upon this concept, and is the theme for my project.
